What is the advantage of a hybrid club over some traditional clubs?

i have been playing gold for about 3 years, im terrible, i know very little about golf, besides that you use a driver off the tee for long shots (which i always slice of course), and irons in between, and the wedge for short shots. so can anyone help me with this question?

The advantage with hybrid clubs are that they give you the accuracy and simplicity of irons but the distance and solid feel of contact of wood. Go hit the links and try a few of the clubs out... I'm not a big fan, but a lot of people carry some!
